Hello everyone. I hope all is well with you. Today was one of those days that makes my heart happy, it’s time for the daddy-daughter dance. When I married my husband, I knew he was an amazing man, but over the years, he has proven to be an amazing father as well. Once a year he takes our daughter to Chick-fil-A’s daddy-daughter date night and also to her daddy-daughter dance at school. This year both event fell on the same day, but as tired as he was from working so hard, rather than make her choose one, he took her to both. Because of the father he has been to her, and the type of husband she has seen him be to me, I feel that she will have high standards for herself when she is an adult. After all, is that not our hopes for our children? Is that not why we work so hard? We hope to give them opportunities that will allow them to have better choices and higher standards for themselves. We hope for our son and daughter to be strong, independent, kind, loving, accepting, and successful in whatever they choose for themselves, but first and foremost, we want them to put God first. Now that I have gotten the emotional mushy stuff out of the way, let’s get to the dress that I made for her this year. Every holiday I jumps at the chance to make themed clothing for my children and making her dress for her dance is something that my daughter looks forward to every year. This year I made her a tulle dress with a beaded mesh bodice using McCalls pattern M7112, View B.

Fabric Used: I used blue beaded mesh with satin underlining for the bodice and blue shiny tulle for the skirt of the dress.
The Sewing Process: sewing this dress was pretty easy, but dealing with that much tulle was a bit much, especially since I gathered the nine pieces of tulle overlay and the skirt by hand.
Would you use this pattern again?: I am definitely going to use the pattern over and over again. There are more events to come.

Thank you all so much for taking the time to check out my blog. Until next time, take joy in the simpliest moments, they go by so fast.
