Sew Blue: Mommy and Me

Hello everyone. I hope all is well with you. This week has been sew productive for me. I have been trying to tackle some of my pattern stash, and some of my fave patterns are by Mimi G. Her style and skills are impeccable. I have been following her work since she started on YouTube, so it is very cool to see how far she has come. I purchased some fabric from one of my favorite fabric stores, Promenade Fabrics online and used it to make a killer dress for myself and a skirt for my lovely daughter.

Pattern used: For my dress, I used Simplicity 8221 by Mimi G and I self drafted my daughter’s pocketed skirt with fabric that I had left over.

Fabric Used: I used a blue floral cotton sateen that I purchased at promenadefabrics.com.

Modifications Made: The only modification that I made was to shorten the dress and sleeve length to match my 5’3″ frame.

Favorite detail: I loved the double collar on the dress, it made the dress so fashionable and chic.

Was this an easy pattern to sew?: This pattern may be a bit tricky for beginners, but Mimi G had a tutorial on YouTube, which is very helpful in making this dress.

Would you use this pattern again?: I would definitely use this pattern again. Fall is almost here, and this dress would look awesome with boots.

Thank you guys for taking the time to read my blog, continue scrolling for more photo’s.
