Hi everyone!! I am back again with a new love……..velvet 😍😍😍😍. I remember when I was a kid and my mother used to dress me up in atrocious green and red velvet dresses for the holidays. Well, at the ripe old age of 35, I have decided to try velvet again, and this time around, since I get to choose how I wear it, I love me some velvet. It kind of makes sense, since my favorite dessert is red velvet cake 😋.
This weekend I decided to make a mommy and me look for my daughter using Simplicity pattern 8105 for my daughter’s dress and McCalls Pattern 7660 for my top. I used a beautiful velvet fabric that I picked up at Hobby Lobby.
Alterations/modifications: For my daughter’s dress I turned view B into a dress by lengthening it by 4 inches. I did not make any major modifications to my top, I just shortened the sleeve by 3 inches, because I am petite and my arms are shorter.
